Open Water Course

At Bundaberg Aqua Scuba you can learn to dive for a very competitive price. Upon course completion you will be a fully qualified diver and will be issued with a Scuba License. This will allow you to scuba dive anywhere in the world.


Course Summary

We pride ourselves in providing a high quality course and level of training that adheres strictly to the guidelines required for an Open Water Diver

4 Day Duration

The course can be completed during a week or split across multiple weekends.

Minimum Dives

A minimum of 4 ocean dives are included.

All equipment required

All the equipment needed for this course will be provided.

Immediate Licence and Registration

Upon course completion you will be issued with a temporary dive certificate. The full license is with photo id and will be mailed to the student by the diving organisation.


Course Requirements

Diving medicals are not compulsory unless one of the following circumstances apply.

As per the Queensland Code of Practice for Diving you must do a dive medical if you are in the following at-risk categories:

  • Those with an at risk medical condition, such as Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy or
  • over 45 years of age or
  • has a body mass index over 30.

Itinerary

Day One Theory & Classroom

The first day covers the required theory and safety briefings before we can get in the water.

Day Two Pool Session

On the second day we complete any revisions of the theory needed before heading to the pool to put into practice what we have learnt in a safe environment.

Day Three Open Water Dives

Today we get in the salt water. Depending on whether conditions the number of open water dives may vary however we aim to at least go for two dives.

Day Four Open Water Dives

Our final day of diving should the weather have been favourable. Today we complete our remaining dives and final assessments.
